About Me
I am a freelance journalist/journalism student, working to use my voice to highlight the untold stories that drive human rights and social justice in our society. I feel that our words are important, and it is up to all of us to use them in ways that facilitate societal change.
I have always been interested in global affairs, and in 2022, I graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. With my degree, I focused on themes of international justice, as well as the political and historical context of the Middle East. In my fourth year, I had the opportunity to intern with the International Criminal Court, in Den Haag, Netherlands. It was this experience that solidified my decision to pursue a career surrounding human rights and social justice.
After graduating university, I found a job in social work at a transitional housing program, advocating for long-term housing solutions and harm reduction policies. As much as I loved what I did, I felt that my desire for writing and talking about global issues was my true path, and in September 2023, I enrolled in Conestoga College's Diploma of Journalism program.
"It might not be easy to change the reality, but at least I could bring their voice to the world."
